Position Information
Position Overview
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software products offered by HealthStream in accordance with technology best practices and product offerings. You will work with a team of developers to understand and refine requirements provided by the business. You will also collaborate to story point and estimate the effort required for new features, enhancements and sub-systems from technical design. You will work with the quality engineering team to develop quality, defect free software that adheres to company coding and documentation standards.
This position is a non-management development position. Developers in this position will participate as members of a software development team and will have individual development responsibilities across the spectrum of software development for a HealthStream products. This position must live within commutable distance to HealthStream's Nashville office.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.
Leadership
Actively participate in group discussions on technical implementation and solution design
Operational/Troubleshooting
Trace most defects/functionality back to the related source code
Determine scope of impact of changes made to the codebase.
Participate in standard processes such as code deployments
Collaborate with Quality Assurance on appropriate use case and test case development
Communication
Translate technical aspects of work to non-technical co-workers
Contribute clear and concise solution documentation
Behavioral
A solid grasp on the functionality of the products maintained by the team and a cursory knowledge of all products within the product family
Exhibit appropriate attention to time management, professional conduct and adherence to corporate policies
QualificationsRequirements
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any discipline), or closely related field of study is preferred.
At least 1 years of experience in the job offered or as a Developer, Consultant, Software Engineer, or closely related occupation.
Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps best practices including CI/CD and automation and associated development.
Demonstrated knowledge of cloud technologies and monitoring platforms preferred
Working knowledge of the application-level database interface
Qualifications
Must have strong logic skills, be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and demonstrate well-developed problem solving skills.
Must demonstrate excellent time-management, prioritization, attention to detail and organization skills.
Must have the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies rapidly.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other team members.
Must be able to consistently meet established project deadlines.
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, and as part of a team.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000. Salary will be determined on the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with skills, relevant experience, and performance in similar roles.
