About this role

HealthPartners is hiring a Sr. Application Analyst and Developer, Epic Grand Central/Prelude. This position ensures that the appropriate analysis, requirements gathering and technical requirements are documented for applications changes. The person in this position is responsible for documenting, coding, and assessing integration of major application changes within HealthPartners application architecture. This role also mentors developers and analysts and provides system development and implementation process guidance and serves as an application contact resource for IT’s Business Partners and other IT groups.


 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assesses, designs, builds, and deploys software and new application functionality. 
  • Performs unit testing and directs and partners in system and end-user test planning and testing.
  • Maintains testing environment and data requirements within the test environment.
  • Analyzes functional and technical requirements for changes or enhancements and prepares system designs and specifications
  • Diagnoses system failures, corrects issues, and assess the issue in order to recommend actions to prevent re-occurrence of the problem.
  • Defines technical specifications based on business requirements; consults with Business Partners regarding technical possibilities and limitations.
  • Assists IS&T’s Business Partners with clarifying and prioritizing service requests.
  • Identifies the need for and recommends standard processes, procedures and best practices.
  • Provides training, professional support and mentoring to Application Developers and other Analysts.
  • Supports 3rd party application software; interacts with vendors regarding problems, upgrade schedules, and software installations.
  • Provides requested documentation and interviews with auditors and third party requestors.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience utilizing two or more programming languages
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • Good understanding of system infrastructure and ability to understand integration of a proposed change into the current infrastructure
  • Proven ability to gather requirements and deliver output on those requirements
  • Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical vernacular
  • Excellent technical writing abilities and documenting
  • Project leadership experience on midsized projects
  • Expertise with more than one system development methodology
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to be on-call 24X7 in areas of expertise

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience/training
  • 6+ years IT analysis and technical design experience
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • 3+ years experience coding, testing, and implementing program changes
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years healthcare/ health plan experience
