About this role

 

The primary focus of this position is to assess, plan, organize and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve speech, language, cognitive and swallow function of patients suffering from diseases or injury. This position will include inpatient and outpatient speech therapy services. In addition, this position will provide backup speech therapy services as needed within the St. Croix Valley and Lakeview Hospital, including weekend and holiday call rotation.   

 Opportunities or interest in peds OP services and special care nursery is welcomed    

Work Schedule: 

0.5 FTE - 20 hrs. weekly - Weekdays between hours 8-430, 1 weekend on-call per month between 8 am-12 pm, 1-2 holiday on-call per year. Primary locations are Amery, supporting both outpatient and inpatient areas. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field from an accredited program
  • Current Speech Language Pathology licensure in the States of Minnesota & Wisconsin. If both licenses are not present upon hire, must have at least one licensure from either MN or WI and must obtain alternate state within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Must have a vehicle with auto insurance and a valid driver’s license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines.
  • Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
  • CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) through ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association) within 18 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of speech therapy experience
  • Video swallow experience
