As a Lead Electrical Commissioning Manager, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of complex electrical and building services systems across high-profile projects. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of all electrical commissioning activities, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction across mission-critical and large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the end-to-end electrical commissioning process across large-scale, complex projects.
• Develop and implement electrical commissioning strategies, schedules, scopes, and resource plans aligned with project requirements.
• Ensure all electrical systems (LV/MV power, UPS, generators, lighting, earthing, and associated control systems) are commissioned in accordance with contractual, statutory, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate electrical commissioning activities with clients, general contractors, consultants, system vendors, and other discipline leads.
• Oversee integration and interface testing between electrical systems and BMS, life safety, and mechanical systems.
• Monitor and report on commissioning progress, identifying risks, constraints, and non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
• Produce comprehensive electrical commissioning plans, test scripts, technical reports, test documentation, and validation records.
• Provide expert input into electrical design reviews, technical submittals, method statements, FAT/SAT procedures, and functional performance testing.
• Support tender development and provide technical input into proposal and bid documentation related to electrical commissioning.
• Ensure strict compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
• Lead, mentor, and support commissioning engineers and site teams, promoting best practices and consistent delivery.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of internal commissioning systems, tools, and processes.

Your Profile
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 8–10 years’ proven experience in electrical commissioning and project leadership roles within the building services and mission-critical sector.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems commissioning, industry standards, testing methodologies, and quality management processes.
• Demonstrated experience with critical power systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, protection systems, and power monitoring.
• Professional membership in a relevant engineering institution is an advantage.
• Confident communicator with excellent leadership, coordination, and client-facing skills.
• Highly organised, self-driven, and solution-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office and electrical commissioning, testing, and reporting tools.
• Flexibility to travel and work on-site as required.

Required Qualifications
• Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably required.
• Must be an experienced electrical engineer or senior field specialist with an excellent understanding of MEP systems, power distribution, critical infrastructure, controls, and the testing & balancing (T&B) interface.
• Must have strong computer skills and effective technical documentation capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the organization of design documentation, multidisciplinary design coordination, and the delivery of design and construction services.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, commissioning processes, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations.
• Understanding of project accounting principles and financial management tools.
• Ability to prioritise and organise work effectively while managing multiple tasks concurrently.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to being an active participant in an employee-owned culture.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
  • Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs
  • Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc
  • Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations
  • Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
