We’re looking for a Plumbing/ Mechanical Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Princess Grace Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.

What you’ll do:

  • To carry out Mechanical plant PPMS e.g. AHU`s, Spilt Units, Fan Coils, Compressors, filter replacements, controls troubleshooting, minor repairs, plumbing skills
  • Support with cross discipline PPMs as required water safety PPMs, Patient room PPM’s, handy man work
  • To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
  • To respond to emergency maintenance and reactive maintenance as requested.
  • To prioritise work requests and carry them out efficiently.
  • To supervise external contractors as directed by the Chief Engineer.
  • To carry out all work in adherence to Health and Safety and COSHH polices and guidelines.
  • To operate a shift system or On Call as required.
  • To document all work accurately.
  • To assist in projects as required.
  • Out hours work and overtime available and willing

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualified in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ mechanical, or an engineering building services qualification
  • Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation
  • Health and Safety, COSHH
  • General knowledge of Fire regulations
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills
  • Must have a flexible approach to work
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
