Purpose
The Compliance Support Specialist ensures the smooth operation of compliance functions by providing essential administrative, research, and collaborative assistance. This role is crucial for maintaining organized records, supporting policy development, and facilitating communication across departments to uphold regulatory adherence. Ultimately, the position helps mitigate risk and fosters a culture of compliance within the organization.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include the following:
Manage compliance documentation and communications: Organize records, handle correspondence, and prepare reports and training materials.
Conduct compliance research and data analysis: Investigate regulatory changes, gather data for audits, and identify potential risks.
Support policy and procedure development: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating compliance policies and internal controls.
Coordinate compliance training and awareness: Help schedule sessions, track participation, and disseminate communications.
Track and support issue resolution: Maintain logs of inquiries and incidents, and monitor corrective action progress.
Facilitate interdepartmental compliance collaboration: Work with other teams to ensure consistent adherence to policies.
Provide general compliance support: Respond to routine inquiries and assist with special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or comparable work experience
1-3 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a regulated industry or a compliance/legal department
Preferred
Knowledge of specific industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA for healthcare).
Experience with compliance management software or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This role is based in Irondale, AL and is expected to work regularly at the HC3 office. This position may be approved for some remote work at the discretion of management and in compliance with the Remote Work and Access Policy.
Travel
This position requires no travel.
Physical Demand
This role will require using a computer for long periods of time while either sitting or standing.
Position Type and Expected Hours
This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (at least 40 hours) per week. Typical workdays begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, and include a one-hour lunch break.
Other Duties
The Compliance Support Specialist has the additional responsibility of assisting with facility management and maintenance requests.
