Hartford HealthCare is actively hiring qualified Nursing Students for an 8-week, full-time (36–40 hrs/week), paid summer experience designed to immerse nursing students in a specialty area of practice. Fellows will gain hands-on clinical experience, classroom learning, and professional development— all while exploring the role of a Registered Nurse at Hartford HealthCare.

Who can apply?
Nursing students in a 2-year, 4-year, or accelerated program graduating in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.

Specialty Areas:
At Hartford HealthCare we provide an immersive, unique learning environment for our Nursing Fellows, offering an opportunity for highly specialized training. Here is a list of specialty areas our nursing fellows have worked in during past fellowship programs:

  • Ambulatory Nursing
  • Behavioral Health
  • Cardiology
  • Critical Care 
  • Emergency Department
  • Flynn Oncology (BSN students only)
  • Medical Group
  • Medical-Surgical
  • Neuroscience
  • Obstetrics
  • Operating Room
  • Perianesthesia Care (PACU)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a BSN, ASN, or Accelerated Nursing program
  • Expected graduation: Winter 2026 or Spring 2027
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or better

  • Resume (highlight clinical experience or related work)
  • Cover letter to include a statement addressing the following:
  1. Why are you interested in the nursing fellowship program at Hartford HealthCare?
  2. What specifically interests you about each specialty you are applying to?
  • One (1) letter of recommendation from a nursing school faculty member
