St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

Responsible for gathering accurate medication histories information from patients arriving at the Emergency Department, this information is done by interviewing patient/family/significant other upon arrival to be admitted to the inpatient units. Completes various related administrative which alleviate pharmacist time.  Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, and speak confidently with patients/family, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals



Education

             High School Diploma or equivalent

             Requires an appropriate level of understanding and training in medical terminology and medication related terms

Experience

             One (1) year of experience as a pharmacy tech in a retail setting.

             Or, six month experience conducting medication histories and/or similar experiences

Licensure, Certification, Registration

             Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection required by March 31st of each year.
