About this role

$32.00 - $37.00 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all production equipment within the Central Food Production Facility to ensure smooth, safe, and timely operations. This role is responsible for performing general facility maintenance and collaborating closely with production and quality control teams to ensure all equipment consistently meets operational, quality, and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows established departmental and facility policies and procedures
  • Trained and continues to learn all equipment in the Central Production Facility
  • Support and assist with training associates on proper equipment use and basic operational safety, in coordination with production leadership
  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of new machines and tools
  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues with production equipment and machinery
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Ensure GMPs for equipment operation, cleaning, and preventive maintenance are followed
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and local health department regulations
  • Maintain manuals, videos, etc. provided for all equipment to reference as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and tool inventory
  • Support sanitation teams with disassembly/reassembly of equipment for deep cleaning
  • Coordinate with vendors for major repairs and warranty services
  • Track warranties and service plans needed for each piece of equipment
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the facility as a whole

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred; college education preferred; experience in food production or

manufacturing preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, OSHA, FSMA)
  • Experience with automated food production equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic repairs
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical diagrams
  • Proficient in using maintenance tracking systems and documentation tools
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable food production facility environment with the possibility

of frequent exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is

regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive

motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination. Also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire

workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
