About the Role

This position falls under HARMAN’s Intelligent Cockpit SBU, specifically within the Software Products organization and is responsible for developing business opportunities for HARMAN software products including Ignite Marketplace, OTA, Feature-on-Demand and other future solutions for Software Defined and Connected vehicles.  The solutions improve automotive OEM offerings with software and back-office processes, in addition to generating new sources of revenue and creating high-tech, high-touch customer experiences for drivers and vehicle occupants.

What You Will Do

  • Understands roadmap, value proposition, and architecture for Software Products solutions by working with business unit, product management, marketing, engineering, and delivery teams.
  • Articulates user stories, value propositions, solution features, functions and capabilities, and other messaging for HARMAN Software Product solutions related to specific automotive customer and prospect needs.
  • Locates and proposes software product-related business deals by contacting potential customers and partners; and discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; and resolving internal priorities.
  • Documents prospective customer requirements using inputs from customer and prospect meetings, HARMAN Automotive's Customer Account Management (CAM) teams, similar OEM solutions, other HARMAN groups and other external inputs.
  • Supports business case and pricing model development for customer proposals.
  • Develops presentations, proposals, and other support material to close Software Product-related opportunities.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Extensive understanding of automotive connected vehicle solutions, including value propositions, architecture, business models, pricing strategies, and other details.
  • Ability to articulate business value of connected vehicle solutions through written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to influence teams across the organization to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of business development, sales or pre-sales experience with additional experience in hands-on technical development of software and/or hardware.
  • BS/BA Degree required
  • Proficient in English

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience with software product sales and/or business development.
  • Experience and/or training in Solution Selling.
  • Advanced engineering and/or business degree.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travel
  • This role is eligible to partially work remotely with trips into the office required for selected meetings and events (this could be on 24-hour notice).
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
