About this role

Overview

The incumbent in this position is responsible for ascertaining the integrity of accounting records for the purpose of compiling, reconciling, reporting, adjusting, computing and/or reclassifying accounting and operational information.  The position will work with and report information to senior leaders. Incumbents in this position are assigned to various assignments and responsible for familiarity with operations, financial statements, general ledger, income journal, A/P, Payroll, A/R, and cash controls.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and prepare all files, documents, and records related to cash and cash equivalents on a daily basis. Prepare daily deposit in accordance with established cash handling procedures.
  • Verifies figures, posting, and documents to ensure they are accurately posted in financial system.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile vendor invoices, account statements, and process invoices for payment through financial system.
  • Ensure timely billing and collections of all Accounts Receivable accounts. Follow-up on collections efforts on a timely basis and provide A/R updates to senior leadership.
  • Assists with daily and month-end journal entries of revenue to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Prepares cash flows reflecting daily activity with bank accounts; responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces positive work environment at property for others; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to others to provide superior guest service.
  • Follows internal control procedures to ensure property maintains a high level of fiscal integrity.
  • Work with department heads and managers to process payroll.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Testing & Certifications:

  • This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent and 5 years’ progressive accounting experience and/or the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, as well as 2 years’ background in accounting procedures.
  • Must successfully pass background check.

  • Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.
