Director of Secure Cloud and Developer Operations Engineering

Location:  Pacific Time Zones ONLY - USA

Hanwha Vision America is seeking a Director of Cloud and Developer Operations Engineering (CloudSecOps, DevSecOps) to own the Hanwha Vision Cloud’s strategic leadership role, responsible for overseeing the DevOps, CloudOps, and Cloud Tooling teams. The position focuses on managing, designing, and implementing scalable cloud solutions that enhance performance, reliability, and visibility and drive innovation within the organization. This role requires a strong technical background in secure cloud operations, specifically with global Amazon Web Services, and establishes a program that emphasizes in the implementation of automation, incident management, and collaboration across various global teams (US East, US West, South Korea, India) to align cloud operations with company goals 

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a global DevOps and CloudOps strategy aligned with the company’s business goals. 
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team of 20+ DevOps and CloudOps engineers, championing DevOps, DevSecOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. 

Infrastructure and Automation:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure. 
  • Drive infrastructure automation to ensure fast, reliable, and automated software deployment. 
  • Establish and maintain an effective incident management process with 24/7 support.  

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all cloud and DevOps practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements (i.e. ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, CCPA) by implementing necessary controls and audits 
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement robust cybersecurity measures and controls. 
  • Conduct regular security assessments and remediate them. 
  • Collaboration and Communication by working closely with product & engineering teams, central platform & operations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions, and communicating effectively with executive leadership, providing updates on key metrics, risks, and projects’ status. 

Monitoring and Performance:

  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of cloud infrastructure and applications. 
  • Implement auto-healing mechanisms and disaster recovery solutions. 
  • Own SLA measurement and management, analyze performance, identify and resolve issues proactively. 
  • Optimize resource usage and costs associated with cloud infrastructure. 
  • Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks using monitoring tools. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field from an internationally recognized institution. 
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience within large Technology and SaaS providers. 
  • Successful experience deploying and managing multi-tenant SaaS applications, including scalability, uptime, and performance optimization. 
  • Proficiency with major video streaming technologies and solutions (i.e. WebRTC, SRTP, HLS, MPEG-DASH) 
  • Experience with search indexing engines and data analytics tools (Elasticsearch, Opensearch, Kafka) 
  • Proficiency with major cloud service providers such as AWS (mandatory), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. 
  • Proficiency with ‘Infrastructure as code’ tools like Terraform and Ansible. 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github, Github Actions. 
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (AWS EKS mandatory), and related containerization and orchestration technologies. 
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch, and Datadog. 
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash. 
  • Understanding of security principles and practices in cloud and DevOps environments, including compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR). 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including technical teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills 
  • Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams
