At Hanover Research, our Advisory team is committed to empowering educators as well as building and district-level administrators with the tools and insights needed to excel in their roles and significantly enhance student learning experiences. The team is dedicated to serving as thought leaders in the k12 sector and adding value to our clients through onsite professional learning, capacity-building, and comprehensive implementation support.

In line with these goals, we are seeking highly driven and experienced K12 Advisory Contractors to join our dynamic team. These roles are ideal for individuals with a robust background in K12 education, education research, and professional development. Successful candidates will be instrumental in developing, demonstrating, and/or delivering high-quality content and resources that support K12 educators and district leaders in enhancing educational practices and outcomes. The K12 Advisory Consultants will report to the Senior Director of K12 Advisory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective workshop content focused on program elevation, data literacy, strategic planning, action planning, sense of belonging,  instructional audits, and leadership development.

  • Facilitate both onsite and virtual workshops and consultations tailored to the needs of K12 district leaders.

  • Collaborate with a team of educators and consultants to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational standards and policy to ensure compliance and excellence in all deliverables.

  • Provide expert interviews on strategies, benefits, and the application of innovative teaching methods and practices related to K12 topics and processes.

Desired Skill and Attributes

  • Knowledge of K12 as an organization, adult learning, and professional development best practices

  • Demonstrated experience in K12 research, writing, and project management

  • Proven track record of facilitating and co-facilitating both onsite and virtual workshops for K12 district leadership

  • Excellent presentation, discussion management, and engagement skills, with comfort facilitating workshops and activities, and presenting research findings to multiple stakeholder groups in both written and verbal forms.

  • High comfort with virtual platforms, including Zoom, to facilitate virtual workshops and consultations

  • Strong understanding of state instructional standards and professional standards for teacher preparation (e.g., NAEYC)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and other relevant software

  • Exceptional editing skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build rapport quickly

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with team members

  • Proven ability to set and achieve ambitious goals

Education Requirement

Master’s degree or higher (Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred but not required) in a K12 education-related field strongly preferred.

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 10+ years in K12 education sector, with at least 5 years of experience in two of the following strongly preferred:

  • Consulting experience

  • Client management experience

  • Project management experience

  • Conducting applied education research or evaluation

  • Developing and facilitating professional learning sessions to K12 district audiences

A minimum of 10 years of experience in K12, including but not limited to

  • Classroom Teacher

  • Building-level administrator

  • District-level administrator

Experience leading professional learning sessions for K12 district and school administrators

Deep knowledge of at least two of the following areas:

  • Program Evaluation

  • Research Methods

  • Data Literacy

  • Strategic Planning

  • Instructional Audits

  • Curriculum Design

  • Departmental Action Planning

  • School Improvement Planning

  • Leadership Coaching and Development

  • Special Education Programming and Audits

  • English Learner Programming and Audits

  • Accreditation

Travel Requirement

Ability and willingness to travel domestically

Compensation  

Hanover Research strives to create compensation that is competitive, equitable, and fair.  The compensation range for this contracting opportunity at the company is $100.00- $150.00 per hour. Please note this compensation range is contingent on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  Our rate is determined by the contracting opportunity and the market.
