Location:         Palo Alto, CA                           Schedule:        Full-time, M-F

Position Summary

This position is responsible for taking possession of processed parts and polishing and preparing the parts for final staging, preparation, and delivery to the customer. This person will utilize specific tools and cleaning chemicals necessary to polish parts, while examining the parts to identify any defects or flaws comparing them against a pattern. While polishing, this person may do one or any of the following tasks for inspection—visually inspect, measure, and clean parts for approval, disapproval, or further processing, depending on thorough inspection. This person must be able to adequately communicate their findings to Plating Technicians and/or the Quality Engineer, asking questions, when necessary. This position may require the general use of hand tools, cleaning agents, and measuring instruments.

  • Monitor, inspect, and take ownership of parts once they are received into polishing and inspection area
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the overall inspection area
  • Visually inspect parts per specific job requirements
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Read gauges and micrometers
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

Physical Requirements

  • Shop experience a plus
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist and maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Complete repetitive movements with hands, arms, wrists, shoulders, as necessary
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Lift, move, or transport items up to 30 pounds without assistance or injury
  • Specific visual abilities to examine parts
  • Wear protective clothing
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
