Respiratory Therapy Technician I

High School Diploma or equivalent.

At least one semester completed of an accredited Respiratory Therapy school

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE:

 

At least one semester completed of an accredited Respiratory Therapy school with experience in Respiratory Therapy equipment maintenance with basic electronic and/or related Respiratory Therapy experience.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

 

Performs or assists with all routine maintenance on all respiratory therapy equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations. Assists with maintaining complete files on all equipment to include: scheduled maintenance, repair costs, service repairs, etc. Performs quality control checks on equipment for accuracy and reproducibility. Inventories and maintains adequate stock levels in all respiratory supply locations of all equipment parts necessary to perform maintenance. Cleans, sterilizes and decontaminates equipment in the absence of Aide. Provides COPD and smoking cessation education as directed Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

    

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

Moderate, involving long periods of walking, standing or lifting.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Inside environment, routine performance of the job may result in infection or disease through direct equipment contact.  Moderate physical demands. Works regular hours, periodic or regular weekends.
