Business Analyst I - Pharmacy

The Business Analyst is responsible for the acquisition, assimilation and analysis of data from multiple systems and data sources utilizing a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools in order to support sound business decisions.  Focuses on overall system and procedural improvements while adhering to departmental service expectations.

- Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant certification in information systems, supply chain management (with focus on information systems), healthcare analytics, or other related majors.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience preferably in the healthcare field.
- Experience with business intelligence tools.  Demonstrated analytical skills. Experience with MMIS such as Meditech, Oracle, or Workday. Demonstrated working knowledge of SCS concepts.                                                                 
- Outstanding analytical and computer skills. Ability to query and analyze data from ERP, Inventory and Requisitioning systems, Data Warehouse, and other supply chain information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Tableau, SQL, and other business intelligence tools. 
- Computer experience demonstrating an ability to become proficient in Alerts resolution, NPR-beginner level, and Scripting/Automation software. 
- Capable of generating reports, graphs, charts, diagrams, process flow charts, policies and procedures. 
- Must be highly attentive to detail, flexible and customer service oriented. 
- Must be self-motivated with accountability and ownership of work.  Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid skills in documenting and analyzing business processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and effective presentation skills.
- Proven skills in problem solving
- Functions as interface between Supply Chain Services, IT, and vendors; coordinates application modifications that apply to multiple systems.
- Under general supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
- Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications
- Represents SCS in other departmental meetings or committees and participates in planning for future information systems needs.
- Analyzes and recommends system improvements to promote overall effectiveness.
- Performs daily operational tasks in ERP and other supply chain information systems
- Ensures effective and successful upgrades, interfaces, and activation of systems and provides follow-up monitoring.
- Ensures functional accuracy, completes impact analysis and performs appropriate system testing before introducing changes into the production environment.
- Supports SCS Department personnel in their daily routine and MMIS system processes.
- Develops and maintains reports and other department metrics used to measure, track and trend continuous improvement.
- Performs all necessary functions associated with maintaining and updating the MMIS system throughout the supply chain including electronic data interfaces with vendors and GHX.
- Writes test plans and coordinate user and internal testing; resolves and re-tests identified errors and problems.  Reports results to appropriate personnel.
- Produces ad hoc and scheduled reports.
- Responsible for maintaining data integrity in the MMIS system.
- Selects appropriate action
- Formulate clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences; chooses an effective option
- Work with user areas to develop and conduct continuing education sessions and new employee training.
- Assists in the documentation of business procedures and processes related to the core functions of the Supply Chain Services Department.
- Assists staff in data analysis for strategic projects in the Supply Chain Services Department
- Other duties as assigned.
