About this role

Hachette Book Group seeks an Online and Digital Sales Assistant/Coordinator to join our dynamic, results-driven sales team. This role plays a key part in supporting HBG’s online and digital business by maintaining accurate sales reporting, coordinating account-level needs, facilitating communication across teams and accounts, and assisting with marketing and editorial workflows across major online and digital partners.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute sales reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Provide sales representatives with data and title information and research in advance for account preparation.
  • Manage vendor-specific marketing requests and ensure accurate, prompt delivery of materials.
  • Draft and send monthly communications to various online retailer teams with key title information, marketing materials, publicity information and galley availability.
  • Communicate key title accolades and editorial picks internally
  • Assist online sales team with various tasks related to vendor-specific metadata requests.
  • Assist with departmental mailings to key accounts
  • Support editorial presentations for various online retailers
  • Attend key retailer meetings and record detailed notes, action items, and follow ups.
  • Collaborate with sales, editorial, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution of digital sales initiatives.
  • Processing invoices and supporting ebook and audio book pricing updates
Qualifications
  • Experience in publishing, digital sales, or related fields preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (V-look ups; pivot tables; etc.), and high degree of comfort with PowerPoint and Outlook preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including working with large amounts of data
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail
  • Familiarity with online retail platforms and publishing workflows is a plus.

The compensation range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
