About this role

Hachette Book Group seeks an enthusiastic Associate National Account Manager to join our creative and driven Digital Sales team. The ideal candidate will support Hachette Book Group’s growing ebook and audiobook business, including account management of digital library and boutique vendors. This person should demonstrate a collaborative spirit and proven ability to take initiative, work independently but effectively, and show attention to detail.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Account management responsibilities for digital library, academic, and boutique retail accounts as well as for digital special sales and select digital sales in international markets
  • Drive significant revenue growth and engagement for the digital business through sharp data analysis, refined by-account strategy, and devising promotional opportunities across partners and formats
  • Present and sell HBG and client frontlist, backlist, and seasonal promotional titles to accounts
  • Partner with marketing and publicity teams to create and execute account- and channel-specific campaigns and initiatives
  • Actively participate in go-to-market planning, including seasonal strategy meetings and sales conferences
  • Develop a seasonal process for managing Advanced Listening Copy program, working with Hachette Audio, print divisions, and other sales channels
  • Serve as vocal and enthusiastic ebook and audio evangelist across HBG publishing, operations, and central divisions
  • Other ad hoc duties as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or audio publishing
  • Experience in book publishing and/or libraries a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills (V-look ups; pivot tables; etc.), and high degree of comfort with PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including working with large amounts of data
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
  • Results-driven, with a proactive approach to achieving goals and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet strict deadlines consistently
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through
  • Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail

The compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
