Position Summary: 

Provides general observational support for assigned patient care area.  Works with other members of the patient care team to deliver care to patients in age groups including , children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics based on unit population.

Experience: 

Care Companion or Sitter experience preferred, but not necessary.

Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent preferred.

Essential Functions: 

Provide companionship to the patient. Alert the RN of patient behavior which could lead to injury. Communicate patient’s needs to patient care team. Maintain and respect the patient’s responsibility, privacy, and dignity. Demonstrates behavior appropriate to keeping patient relaxed.

Other Duties: 

Participates in performance improvement activities to improve service and care. I understand that this description is not intended to be all inclusive and that other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary in getting the work done.

The pay for this position ranges from $17.00-$22.82 per hour.
