RS AMT Team Lead A&P in  GAC Palm Beach


Unique Skills:

This is an Avionics Install Team Lead position for first shift. Experience Installing avionics systems upgrades and modifications on Gulfstream aircraft is required. 

 Leadership: Plans, schedules, and completes tasks on work authorizations to meet the master schedule. Manage and delegate tasks to technicians. Ensure completion of tasks within allotted time. Mentor and Train team members in associated work assignments and contribute to the development of employee technical skills and knowledge. Coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time aircraft delivery. Monitor and check accomplished work to ensure it meets regulatory requirements, quality standards and is defect free prior to final inspection. Possess the ability to move to new tasks with only a minimal, short-term impact to established goal hours and schedule.

Technical Skills: Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and other technical data. Install and route wire harnesses, perform basic terminations (crimp and solder), perform advanced terminations (Quadrex/Coax) and assemble/dis-assemble connectors. perform ring outs, resistance, and voltage checks. Proficient in electrical and avionics systems troubleshooting. Perform avionics system operational checks and return to service checks on newly installed avionics electrical systems. Experience using various avionics test equipment such as IFR 6000, IFR 4000 and air data test equipment. Advanced knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems (Navigation, Communications, Integrated Modular Avionics).


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 10 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Valid Driver’s License required.

Position Purpose:

Plan and coordinate various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Provide work directions to technicians performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting and repair duties.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Ensure required. maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems .
  2. Lead the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
  3. Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
  4. Ensure completion of work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
  5. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
  6. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
  7. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
  8. Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
  9. Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .

Additional Functions:
  1. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
  2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
  3. Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required. .
  4. Maintain advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  2. Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
