Job Summary:

Boating is Fun Camp at Natick Boathouse, managed by Guest Services, Inc., is now hiring part-time Junior Camp Counselors for the 2026 summer season. Camp runs for 9 weeks from June through August and counselors are expected to work in our weekday camp. If you love working outdoors and teaching children how to sail and kayak, this is a great opportunity for you! If you are 18 or older, please apply to a regular Camp Counselor Position. Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY 

To provide supervision of the water to ensure safe boating operations. Teach beginning and intermediate boating skills to campers and junior staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Teach beginning and intermediate boating skills
  • Leading games and activities
  • Leading/teaching groups children
  • Supervising of children ages 8 - 13
  • Supervision of on-the-water activities
  • Ability to swim, kayak, and sail 
  • Working weekday hours. Weekend hours might also be required
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Customer Service and Leadership skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of boating such as kayaking, sailing etc.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard or Equivalent Preferred. (Can be trained once hired.)
  • 1 year teaching experience with at least one type of boating discipline such as sailing, kayaking, SUP, or canoeing preferred.
  • USSailing, ACA Certifications preferred
  • Basic proficiency in speaking Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Hindi preferred

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS

The work required is moderately physically demanding and requires a medium level of physical fitness. You will be required to do the following: Standing, Lifting, Kayaking, Sailing, Canoeing, Swimming, Kneeling, Twisting, and Squatting.
