Description

Role Summary 

The Product Manager (Integrations) plays a key role in developing, delivering, and maintaining GS1 Canada’s suite of integration products (GDSN, APIs, connectors) to meet growing industry needs and corporate objectives. Our integration products enable our subscribers to load, exchange, and retrieve rich, standardized product data and media through automated, self-serve methods. This position is responsible for collaboratively defining and delivering the integration product roadmaps and is accountable for setting KPIs and achieving success measures. The ideal candidate is a passionate Product leader who possesses a balanced mix of business acumen and technical savvy, making them a subject matter expert on various integration market needs, methods, technologies, value propositions, and business models. 

Key areas of focus include deriving insights from data, understanding user needs, setting product vision and strategic roadmaps, leading development teams, communicating with peers and executive leaders across the business, and measuring success. This role requires a proactive approach to solving completion problems, developing cross-functional relationships, identifying growth opportunities for assigned products, creating process efficiencies, and challenging the status quo. 

This role is a hybrid role, requiring in-person attendance for key meetings and workshops on a weekly and/or monthly basis, or as required.



Key Responsibilities


  • Defines and evolves GS1 Canada’s integration vision, strategy, and strategic roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business stakeholders, technology partners, global standards (e.g., GDSN), and enterprise systems used by subscribers.
  • Oversees the definition, development, and ongoing evolution of subscriber-facing APIs and other integrations.
  •  Assists Industry Managed Solutions and Finance teams in establishing product pricing proposals to meet financial targets.
  •  Supports Industry Marketing in developing go-to-marketing plans, including core positioning and messaging for assigned products.
  • Defines, reviews, and an,alyses key results and performance metrics (such as adoption, performance, satisfaction, and time-to-value) to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Partners with Account Management teams and key subscribers to elicit feedback, collaborate on pilot or launch projects, and support new subscriber acquisition.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on new trends and opportunities, through research, analysis, and market insights monitoring.
  • Develops and articulates, for an executive audience, business cases, project(s) scope, product definition, including benefits, features and benefits, business rationale, and financial projections.
  • Manages complex stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally, ensuring all industry partners and stakeholders are appropriately engaged and updated on all relevant product plans.
  • Collaborates with third-party vendors and internal technical teams to ensure seamless integration with PIM, ERP, and e-commerce platforms. 
  • Owns the end-to-end lifecycle of integration products, from market analysis and ideation, through development and delivery, to support transitions and end-of-life. 


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering (MBA an asset).
  • 5+ years of software product management experience, ideally managing APIs as a product in a B2B environment, including innovation and market research.
  • Strong working knowledge of web and data synchronization technologies (e.g., REST, GraphQL, GDSN, EDI, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for good API design.
  •  Natural technical/business curiosity and a willingness to get into the details of a solution to own the experience as the business prime.
  • Fluency with building effective business cases and articulating succinct business rationale to an executive audience, including financial projections.
  •  A customer-first orientation and a history of proactively going above and beyond for users.
  • Adaptable with a track record of balancing immediate needs with long-term priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to influence peers and executives, as well as external partners.
  • Ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced environment.
