Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and electrical equipment and systems according to established procedures.

2nd Shift:

1:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.

  • Performs tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.

  • Assembles, installs, adjusts, and calibrates mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment. Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, and replaces equipment and parts as needed. 

  • Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.

  • Provides assistance and guidance to junior maintenance colleagues.

  • Execute preventive Maintenance to machines and electrical cabinets such as clean up electrical cabinets, re-tight all electrical terminals, replace damaged devices, organize cables, ensure all components are perfectly grounded, replace bad sensors, replace control and power cables going to the field.

  • Manage Work orders on eMaint plantform to report all executed tasks on the machines.

  • Must be familiar with Programable Logic Controllers (PLC), must be able to diagnose bad input/Output card.

  • Execute predictive maintenance to Main power cabinets using thermographic camera.

  • Troubleshoot electrical faults on machines and electrical devices.

  • Root cause analysis for major breakdowns on machines.

  • Replace and configure Servo drives, VFD’s and HMI’s.

  • Replace and Troubleshoot 480 VAC motors, 120 Vac motors.

  • Replace and troubleshoot servo motors.

  • Basic Electrical and Industrial Safety, AC DC Circuits and Machinery, Electrical Troubleshooting

  • Ability to troubleshoot control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems.  Install and maintain electrical systems and controls.  Read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements. 

  • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes and principles of operation of electrical equipment.

  • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.

    Dismantle, inspect and replace electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts

    Lays-out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and to include panels, breakers, and conduit.

  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments

    Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.

  • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.

    Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.

  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.

  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience 

  • Preferred - Electrician Journeyman License

  • Preferred - Electrician Industrial License

  • Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) or technical training and 5+ years of recent experience in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance position required  

  • Must have completed a minimum of the following courses from an accredited and approved educational source or demonstrated knowledge and skill acquired via sufficient job experience

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Demonstrates ability to select and operate appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.

  • Possesses an operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Demonstrates ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.

  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate issues and solutions to team members.

  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possesses the ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, and reassemble manufacturing equipment.

  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under limited supervision.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.

Compensation Range:

The pay for this position is $41.33 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
