Join our Marketing Team as a Senior Practice Development Manager. This role may be based in our Atlanta office.

This role may be based in our Atlanta office, on an in-office hybrid basis. Regular in-office presence of four days a week is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Position Summary

The Senior Practice Development Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to the global Litigation leadership team and group of approximately 800 attorneys across 48 offices, providing the highest level of service in operations and business management. This role supports an international team across multiple time zones and collaborating seamlessly with a diverse group of professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality execution of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as a thought partner and project manager to Litigation Practice leadership in setting strategic goals, implementing change, identifying and driving progress against priorities, and improving internal communications.

  • Demonstrates a strong substantive understanding of the Litigation Practice and utilizes this knowledge to help attorneys identify and package targeted, client-facing products.

  • Partners with Litigation Practice leadership and the Litigation Executive Committee to define and execute strategic business development initiatives.

  • Creates connections between the Litigation Practice and other practice groups, industry groups, and client teams to foster collaboration and cross-selling.

  • Works directly with attorneys to identify opportunities, facilitate introductions, and help them secure work across offices and sectors.

  • Leads onboarding efforts for new attorneys to the Litigation Practice, ensuring integration into the group and alignment with business development goals.

  • Conducts and synthesizes market research and competitive intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and inform practice strategy.

  • Oversees the development of client-facing presentations, pitches, and proposals; track win/loss outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Oversees responses to litigation-related RFPs and proposal requests in collaboration with regional and practice group managers.

  • Oversees the nomination process for individual and group awards, recognitions, and honors, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and maximizing visibility

  • Manages submissions to legal directories and ranking authorities (e.g., Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation)

  • Organizes and facilitates practice group calls and meetings; manages follow-up on action items and strategic initiatives

  • Supervises the development and maintenance of practice resources, including experience databases, client lists, and practice descriptions

  • Oversees internal and external communications, thought leadership, and department-wide updates

  • Collaborates with the Professional Development team to design and deploy targeted training programs that support attorney growth and client service excellence

  • Oversees planning and execution of practice-specific events, webinars, sponsorships, and networking programs; evaluates ROI and strategic impact

  • Manages a team responsible for day-to-day marketing, events, and communications for the Litigation Practice

  • Collaborates with firm-wide marketing professionals, including communications, design, and events teams, to ensure alignment and consistency

  • Leads and supports a variety of short- and long-term projects, including attorney-specific requests and cross-functional initiatives

  • Demonstrates experience managing and mentoring a team

  • Demonstrated ability to work well, be influential, and communicate effectively with senior leadership and staff

Education & Prior Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters or JD preferred

  • Minimum ten years of experience in marketing or business development within a law firm or professional services firm

  • Experience supervising a team

Technology

  • Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
