Equestrian Specialist 

Dingman's Ferry| Part Time, Seasonal, Hourly | $13 - $14.50  per hour

What is needed for this job as our Equestrian Specialist:

  • 18+ years of age

  • 1+ years working with children and teens

  • Knowledge of horse care and riding instruction required

  • Experience or aptitude to work closely with children in a positive, supportive manner

  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act

swiftly in an emergency

  • Enjoyment from working with children and keeping positive relationships with their parents in high energy athletic environments

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ensure that programs are executed to meet the needs of all ages, abilities, and skill levels as well as maintaining safety and well-being of campers

 

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Equestrian Specialist:

  • Assist with the implementation of the program curriculum for all riding activities.

  • Enforce all riding procedures  

  • Teach both English and Western riding at various levels as assigned

  • Teach basic horse and barn management

  • Assist in establishing and carrying out daily feed and care procedures for horses

  • Perform routine health checks. Identify and treat minor illnesses and ailments of horses under supervision of the Equestrian Director

  • Assist in keeping stable, riding arenas, pastures, fencing, and general ranch area clean in good repair
