Join our mission to help individuals with mental illness and addictions to lead healthy and productive lives.  GCBHS has an immediate opening for a Payee Specialist to serve adults who are experiencing mental health and substance use disorder in Amelia, OH.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  High School Diploma, knowledge of Mental Health or Social Services, and at least two years experience in budgeting skills.  Hands on experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Learns accounting and computer system, payee process, rules and regulations governing the program.
  • Collaborates with care manager to assist in budget plan.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with Social Security and other community resources.
  • Payee day to day in accordance with policy and procedure:
  • Facilitates client intake process.
  • Establishes bank account for client.
  • Establishes a budget, discretionary spending and savings for client.
  • Has discretionary spending checks ready for applicable clients based on their budget.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts in RPM.
  • Reviews budget plan with client and/or CM annually or when the budget changes.
  • Assist with managing the Benefits Specialist mailbox
  • Track and monitor Medicaid approvals and denials
  • Collaborate with JFS, SSA and other community partners
  • Assist with Medicaid renewals, as needed
