Hiring for Springfield, Missouri but considering applicants in the St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas. This position is in-office, with the potential of hybrid work 2 days per week after 1 year.  Preferred candidate will have 4-5 years of Commercial Credit Analyst experience.  If not in the Springfield area, the individual hired for this position would be required to travel to Springfield 6-8 times per year.

General Description

The Senior Credit Risk Specialist is responsible for preparing various reports for SEC reporting as well as internal use. Coordinates and leads quarterly Watchlist meetings in conjunction with senior management. Supports department personnel by providing assistance and oversight in preparing credit reviews, ensuring accurate risk ratings of loan portfolio. Works with department personnel to prepare reports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for reporting, oversight, and back-up support of department personnel. This includes but not limited to CECL, industry reports, SEC, and Call Report supplemental reports. This duty is preformed about 50% of the time.
  2. Responsible for preparing Troubled Debt Restructuring report, setting up quarterly meetings as well as presenting and making recommendations to senior management regarding inclusion in report. Also assists in the completion of the Modification report for SEC reporting. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  3. Responsible for conducting quarterly Watchlist meeting with senior management in conjunction with the Director of Credit Risk Administration. Works with Credit Risk personnel to prepare reports. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  4. Responsible for leading $1M and over quarterly meetings with senior management. Works with Credit Risk personnel to prepare reports. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
  5. Assists bank examiners and audit personnel in obtaining information related to Credit Risk. This duty is performed about 5% of the time.
  6. Provides assistance, as needed, in preparing credit reviews, ensuring accurate risk ratings of loan portfolio. This duty is performed about 5% of the time.
  7. Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
  8. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field or at least 4 years equivalent relevant work experience
  • Additionally, 4 to 7 years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems.
  • Intermediate experience with accounting, alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, and Word Processing
  • Advanced experience with Excel
  • Advance mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
  • and percentages and apply concepts such as fractions and ratios.
