About this role

Job Overview

This is a unique and broad role supporting the entirety of the business across contractual domains.  You will be responsible for assisting with contract administration, analysis, preparation, review, and execution.  You will have a basic understanding of commercial business agreements and exhibit business acumen allowing you to understand contractual risk to the company. You will also provide support related to other various legal activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain all documents within the contract management system, ensuring agreements are complete, accurate, and maintained.
  • Ensure all documents are tracked throughout their lifecycle, including; hierarchy, versioning, signatures, distribution, recording, and manage renewals.
  • Follow up with both internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure final signed copies of agreements and contracts are received.  
  • Review, edit, and draft standard agreements and formal correspondence.
  • Facilitate agreement review across relevant business functions.
  • Maintain and deploy master agreement templates in consultation with business teams and Corporate Attorney.
  • Provide support, with guidance from department leader, to business partners including internal teams, customers, and suppliers with routine contract negotiations.
  • Work within defined authority limits and recognize when additional escalation is necessary to mitigate risk to the company.
  • Provide support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to general complaints or requests for information as directed by Corporate Attorney.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned. 

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills across all hierarchical levels.
  • Basic negotiation skills with ability to make confident and informed decisions for routine work independently.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and produce results with limited oversight.
  • Utmost discretion with confidential and secret information, and an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Willingness to learn, develop, adapt, and support the business as needed.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship both now and in the future. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or another relevant field.
  • 0-2 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and managing commercial contracts.
  • Education and experience in transactional & commercial law.
  • Entry level experience managing and using contract management tools, such as Cobblestone Contract Insight, Agiloft Contract Management, IronClad or similar tool.
  • Proficient with document editing and redlining with tools such as Word, Change-Pro, and Acrobat.
  • Basic experience managing and using electronic signature software, such as DocuSign.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
