Job Overview

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Finance Intern at our corporate headquarters in Hiram, OH. Our positions are structured to maximize your internship experience. This position is a paid 10-week internship, starting in June through August. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Researching accounting principles and writing documentation regarding application to our company’s accounting practices.
  • Preparing and entering general journal entries.
  • Performing monthly account reconciliations.
  • Performing daily revenue billings.
  • Performing Outside Storage Reconciliations.
  • Participate in monthly plant cost center reviews.
  • Assisting with month end closings and financial reports.
  • Interns/Co-ops will contribute to the day-to-day activities and special projects for GLC
  • Key deliverables will depend on the candidate skills and capabilities
  • Collaborate with multiple levels of Finance organization on projects when applicable
  • Lead efforts to ensure platform sustainability and accuracySupport AP with invoice entry or OCR corrections.
  • All GLC interns are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Current college student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or related field.
  • Year in school: Incoming Sophomore/Junior/ or Senior.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship both now and in the future.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
