About this role

Job Overview

The Palletizer Operator operates, maintains and cleans equipment from the top of the elevators into the cooler. The Operator is also responsible for tagging pallets and keeping the pallet magazines full while complying with customer specifications and with company policy related to GMPs and Safety.

Job Responsibilities

• Keep VanGol machine stocked with pallets.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance.
• Verify correct counts of finished product.
• Work with production lines to communicate and help solve issues that affect.
• Inspect Machine E- stops to ensure functionality before production starts.
• Change/maintain batteries and fill out appropriate documentation.
• Set-up and organize boxes and pallets that production will need.
• Scan pallet tags and match them to the pallet.
• Maintain a productive speed to ensure that all needs are met in a timely manner.
• Perform duties in accordance with safety rules.
• Communicate to line personnel with issues, changes, and safety issues.
• Operate forklift in a safe manner.
• Perform pre-operational forklift inspections.
• Productive use of down time.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and count correctly.
• Ensure proper operation of machinery.
• Compliance with all safety standards and regulations per company policy.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures.   Maintain a clean and organized work area
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to run forklifts, JLG lift, and other transport equipment.
• Ability to read, comprehend and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.
• Good trouble shooting skills. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • SAP experience.
  • MES experience.
  • Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
