About this role

Job Overview

The Sanitation Worker-Housekeeping provides basic janitorial duties in the offices, restrooms, break areas and performs sanitation as directed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clean, mop, and vacuum all common areas daily
  • Refill paper goods, hand soaps/sanitizers as needed
  • Maintains the PPE and janitorial supply inventories
  • Ensure cleanliness of all other areas as assigned.
  • Clean floors using floor scrubber
  • Ensure exterior grounds are kept free of litter and other debris.
  • Clean/Sanitize presumptive areas for environmental findings outside of production areas; reads chemical labels to ensure safe applications, tests & records chemical solutions strengths
  • Maintains chemical room, unloads bulk chemicals, stores chemical drums/totes
  • Cleans ammonia & boiler rooms
  • Cleans hazardous spills indoors and outdoors
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment. 
  • Ability to make decisions based on standard practices. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work without relocation.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1 year of sanitation experience or more.
  • SAP experience.
  • Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Product weight: up to 100 lbs
• Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
• Must be able to evaluate conditions and behaviors by periodically walking through the plant. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights.
