About this role

Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity, this position is responsible for administering, operating, and maintaining security technologies, to support the resilience of systems and processes that maintain the overall security of Great Canadian Entertainment’s Information Technology environment. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Lead the analysis, triage, and response to security-related alerts and events across the enterprise environment, exercising independent judgment within established procedures and escalation guidelines. 
  • Research, identify, evaluate, and recommend security solutions or control improvements to address identified security risks, vulnerabilities, and operational gaps. 
  • Contribute to the creation of standards and procedures that relate to cyber security. 
  • Analyze proposed and implemented changes as part of the change management process to assess security impact, risk, and alignment with organizational standards. 
  • Proactively assess security events, logs, alerts, and system behavior using security monitoring and detection technologies to identify anomalies, threats, or opportunities for improvement. 
  • Review and assess proposed firewall, network security, and other security technology configuration or rule changes to ensure alignment with security best practices and operational requirements. 
  • Assess enterprise, perimeter, and newly implemented systems and security technologies against established benchmarks, standards, and cybersecurity best practices, and recommend corrective actions where gaps are identified. 
  • Support cyber security incident response operations by performing incident triage, containment actions, evidence collection, and coordination with the Incident Response Lead in accordance with established response procedures. 
  • Assist in audit responses and implementation of corrections based on findings as needed. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support problem management activities, including root cause analysis and recommendation of corrective actions. 
  • Communicate effectively with IT, operational teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to support secure operations, issue resolution, and incident response activities. 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory partners.
  • Perform other cyber security duties as assigned or directed. 
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required to support business-critical systems, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Education and Qualification Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity related roles. 
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a suitable combination of education and experience. 
  • Relevant industry certifications such as GIAC GSEC/GCIH or ISC2 SSCP preferred 
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and positive service-oriented communication 
  • Intermediate to advanced working experience with network security technologies, Identity and Access Management, and Cloud Security.
