Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and follows up on outstanding items.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing bank reconciliations, bank journal entries, credit card transactions and bank deposits and implements/follows standard procedures for same.
  • Prepares month end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepares and updates table and slot performance reports as applicable.  
  • Prepares and updates Food & Beverage revenue and labour reports.
  • Reviews Food & Beverage inventories and purchases and calculates month end cost of goods sold for Food & Beverage outlets
  • Prepares monthly revenue journal entries for Food and Beverage outlets.
  •  Prepares and submits PST, GST and NRT tax returns within the required time frames.
  •  Excel file maintenance and monthly journal entries for benefits, utilities, prepaid, accruals and marketing.
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
  • Cross train on Junior and Senior Accountant responsibilities.
  •  Assist Junior Accountant and provide support for the A/P function when required
  • Takes on additional responsibilities as needed

What You Bring
  • Minimum of three year of progressive accounting experience and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
  • Completion of, or working toward the CPA designation preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance theories, practices, applicable legislation and related resources.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of excel spreadsheets, database software and web browsers.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software; experience with Great Plains and Micros is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to facilitate the timely collection of data and information required to meet operational and departmental objectives.
  • Ability to define, analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Solid customer service skills and the drive to follow through on requests for information and assistance.
