Job Description:

Grand Canyon University is seeking an assistant to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's Honors College department.

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Honors College in developing and managing both front and back end processes. This staff member will support the growth and development of the Global Studies Programs and assist students with preparing for their global studies experience.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Manage the honors college and study abroad inbox and office phone line, which includes responding to inquiries from students, parents, student services counselors, program providers, and others
  • Process global studies applications which includes working with administration from other colleges to pre-approve courses, working with GCU systems to ensure students’ documents are properly uploaded and recorded, and ensuring students are fully cleared on the GCU end before departing
  • Plan and staff global studies events such as study abroad fairs, information sessions, tabling events, etc. on campus
  • Present at information sessions about global studies options/offerings as well as the application process
  • Hold meetings with students (either in-person or virtually) to answer any questions about global studies and/or assist with the application process
  • Assist with data entry and tracking through various online systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • CRM
  • CampusVue

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to commit to 15-20 hours/week year-round including summers
  • Must be self-motivated and have effective time management skills
  • Must be available for in person events throughout the school year at GCU

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
