About the job:

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager in the gUP Technical Solutions and Insights (TSI) Program Management Office (PMO), you will lead and drive the execution of complex, cross-functional programs critical to gUP's top priorities. You will take ownership of significant initiatives, potentially spanning areas like the Generative AI-powered help guide, enhancing user voice feedback systems, optimizing ops infra, scaling content automation, developing innovative partner solutions, or refining eng ops and governance frameworks.

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, and UX teams to define program scope, develop detailed execution plans, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time delivery. Your role requires a strong ability to manage ambiguity, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and make sound technical judgments. You will be responsible for driving alignment across teams, communicating progress effectively, and proactively solving problems to keep programs on track.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

  • Drive and own the delivery of complex programs, from technical scoping and design through global launch, landing, and maintenance.
  • Apply deep technical understanding to proactively identify and resolve complex system-level blockers, guiding technical decisions within Generative AI architecture, prompt engineering, and data pipelines.
  • Influence and align cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, UX) and stakeholders on program goals, technical approaches, and priorities, driving consensus and unblocking progress.
  • Contribute to product and program strategy by identifying opportunities, defining clear project goals, and ensuring alignment with broader gUP objectives.
  • Design, implement, and drive adoption of scalable frameworks, best practices, and data-driven OKRs to improve program execution, monitor health, and enhance communication with leadership.
