As a Multimedia Writer, you will specialize in the creation of audio, videos, scripts, art and graphic design that help form our Help Center content. Your primary responsibility takes shape in the form of creative briefs and video scripts to help guide other writers, Graphic Designers and Video Producers. You will work with our Google multimedia team and other stakeholders to bring product and platform information to life through multimedia illustrations, motion graphics, animation and videos.
Position Responsibilities:
Technical Writers for Multimedia Content will:
Work with a team that manages various Ads Help Center articles, sites, and other written and visual sources. Take up requests to create or edit content through a creative asset lifecycle of forming a creative brief, project management, stakeholder meetings, writing video scripts, performing reviews, liaising with the creative team on project deadlines — all in a self-managed internal ticketing system, while guaranteeing accuracy, efficiency, and completeness
Create clear and compelling written and visual content, while strictly adhering to Google’s style guide and content models
Submit drafts and pre-published content to Senior Content Writers/ Designers for peer review and quality audit
Liaise with different departments including agencies that produce multimedia content, and language translation teams
Edit and update existing graphical content using Adobe design tools and related software.
Take on additional content or multimedia projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
As a content writer:
Must have excellent English communication skills (written and oral), stakeholder management skills, and a passion for producing great content
Must have 2+ years of experience in content writing, video script writing, editing, and improving existing digital content of medium length (400-700 words), while working within a strict style guide or writing, formatting and design standards
Must have experience streamlining long form written content (like help center articles) into scripts for voice overs (30 sec to 3 min videos). Familiarity with storyboarding and animatics for drafting video concepts.
As an multimedia designer:
Must have applied professional industry experience in multimedia graphic design and creating image abstractions. Online portfolio required - include with Resume.
Basic knowledge of Graphic Design and Illustration techniques, plus proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Figma) and other design tools as needed
You are familiar or have experience with the following: Creatives: briefs for Abstract images, Infographics, flowcharts, and scripts for Informational videos, scripts for Instructional and Troubleshooting videos
