The Career and Resource Navigator supports Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s mission by empowering individuals to achieve meaningful personal and professional goals. This role blends operations, human services, and career coaching to provide holistic, person-centered support to internal and external clients served through Opportunity Centers and Associate Success Programs.

Navigators drive measurable impact through mission-driven interactions that support employment, retention, career advancement, financial stability, and long-term independence. This position works closely with associates, clients, leadership, employers, and community partners to remove barriers and promote sustainable success.

 Your Typical Day:

  • Provide holistic career coaching and case management services to associates and external clients, including intake, assessment, career exploration, vocational guidance, and placement support.
  • Assist individuals in accessing Mission Services programs and resources to remove personal and professional barriers to employment and retention.
  • Facilitate job readiness and employability skills training in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Develop Individualized Development & Employment Plans (IDEPs) for external clients and Individual Sustainability Plans (ISPs) for internal associates.
  • Meet regularly with assigned individuals to monitor progress, provide accountability, and support goal achievement.
  • Conduct follow-up in person, by phone, and by email to track outcomes and retention.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to support job placement, retention, and advancement opportunities.
  • Partner with store leadership to support associate engagement, retention, and success through frequent and intentional interactions, including side-by-side engagement and on-floor visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Business/Community Engagement Specialist to plan, organize, and attend career fairs, education events, and workforce-related activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community agencies and maintain an up-to-date community resource guide.
  • Identify skill or knowledge gaps and communicate training needs to leadership and the Training & Development team.
  • Ensure all client documentation is completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports outlining services provided and progress toward key performance indicators.
  • Make appropriate referrals to Human Resources, EAP, and community resource providers as needed.
  • Accomplish organizational goals by completing related duties as assigned.

 What You’ll Need:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in case management, career counseling, or employment services preferred.
  • Relevant Goodwill experience may substitute for workforce development experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and caseloads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with associates, leadership, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-focused, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using technology and case management systems.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s territory.

 Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • General office environment with regular travel to stores, partner sites, and events.
  • Work may include standing, walking, and meeting with associates during work shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, pollen).
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
