Position Description:

Assists with creating and updating job descriptions, participates in wage and salary surveys, analyzes results, and recommends adjustments to compensation programs aligned with organizational objectives while maintaining a competitive position in the marketplace for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with base pay and variable compensation programs for all job families and categories.
  • Assists with maintaining the internal salary structure with an annual review to determine if adjustments are needed.
  • Provides support to entire HR department concerning interpretation of compensation practices and guidelines.
  • Conducts intake with organizational leaders on new job description requests and as needed, conducts on-site job review in order to accurately write and classify the job description.
  • Conducts market research and makes recommendations to leaders on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classification and salary range of new positions.
  • On an annual basis, in partnership with the Legal Department, reviews all existing job descriptions for compliance and any recent company-wide updates to the job description format.
  • On a weekly basis, reviews the company-wide roster to ensure correct pay rates for team members as well as ensuring minimum wage requirements are being met.  Makes corrections as necessary.
  • Assists with the participation in and analysis of compensation surveys.
  • Remains informed about federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting or similar field, preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in Compensation and writing and updating job descriptions preferred.
  • Experience with MS Excel.
  • Mathematical aptitude, analysis skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with top management.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
