We are looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to join our onsite Support team. As a key member of the Legal Assistant Support team, you will be responsible for providing clerical, administrative and general office duties to meet the needs of the firm and our clients.

Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to Legal Assistants to ensure required actions are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner
  • Work with a variety of legal documents including agreements, letters, memos, presentations, organizational charts and practice specific documents
  • Revise, proofread documents against originals and prepare blacklining as necessary
  • Docket entry, prepare cheque requisitions and process amounts when appropriate
  • Schedule appointments and prepare necessary materials
  • Arrange for conference calls including contacting participants and providing call details
  • Coordinate client meetings, book meeting room, and arrange for catering or audio-visual equipment
  • Ensure client confidentiality
  • Compose client correspondence and maintain practice specific databases
  • Provide back-up assistance to Legal Assistants during absences as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled or have completed a post-secondary education with a focus on legal administration or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Client-service mindset with the ability to anticipate and respond to needs proactively
  • A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
