The IT Support Specialist is a crucial and respected position in the organization.  Duties include configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of products.  This includes computers (desktops, laptops, all-in-ones), peripherals, printers, tablets, applications, network connectivity, telecommunications, while working with other IT team members on topics such as cyber security and server maintenance.


Responsibilities

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Windows 10/11 troubleshooting.
  • Hardware diagnostics: desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals.
  • Mobile devices (phones & tablet) configuration, especially MDM-enrolled devices.
  • Network troubleshooting: IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, VMWare.
  • Utilizing desktop imaging and deployment tools.
  • Remote user support utilizing tools such as Dameware and RDP.
  • Utilizing ITSM ticketing platforms and strong documentation habits.
  • Security awareness, HIPAA-conscious; understands basic compliance obligations.
  • Solid communication and the ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Serve as part of an on-call rotation.
  • The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

                Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Licenses/ certifications/ registrations

 

                Required: None required.

                Preferred: CompTIA A+

If the selected candidate does not possess the CompTIA A+ certification at time of hire, then the certification must be achieved as a condition of employment within six months of start date.

 

Experience

     Required: Minimum of 1–3 years of professional technical support experience in a structured IT environment.

                Preferred: N/A

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting light office items (up to 25 pounds). Visual acuity to view computer screens and read detailed financial documents. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. May be required to move throughout the healthcare facility, including administrative and clinical areas.

 

Working Conditions:

This position operates in a professional office setting within a healthcare facility. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The office environment is climate-controlled, well-lit, and ergonomically designed for extended computer work. While this role is primarily office-based and does not involve direct patient care, the employee may occasionally be present in clinical areas or interact with staff working in clinical environments. As such, there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases. The organization provides appropriate training and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed to ensure safety.
