About this role

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Welcomes with greeting, patients and visitors; answers or refers inquires; maintains the reception area.
  2. Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  3. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival; informing provider and patients of delays.
  4. Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties; answering patients’ questions.
  5. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and billing information; collects and records patient payments.
  6. Maintains office supplies and equipment by anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt of ordered supplies.
  7. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  8. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

  1. Gets and distributes incoming, outgoing and inter office mail.
  2. Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  3. Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  4. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
