Who We Are

The MAS Digital Strats team at Goldman Sachs takes a hands-on approach to ideate, design, and implement full-stack solutions for portfolio managers, sales teams, and clients. Our primary objectives are to drive revenue growth through the development of sophisticated tools for portfolio construction, while also delivering scalable and efficient systems for portfolio management. We design, build, and maintain every layer of our technology stack—including databases, data caching, calculation engines, workflow orchestration, and front-end tooling—and leverage advanced quantitative models to decompose multi-asset portfolios from both top-down and bottom-up perspectives. Increasingly, we are integrating AI and agent-based tools to provide intuitive, flexible solutions and drive efficiency for stakeholders. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen interest in understanding business problems and expanding their technical skillsets.

What You’ll Do

As a Vice President in our Bengaluru office, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of quantitative engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth.
• Balance team management responsibilities with individual contribution to key projects.
• Oversee the design and implementation of proprietary infrastructure, libraries, and APIs that support advanced portfolio analytics and risk modeling.
• Coordinate and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities.
• Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, sales, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Champion the adoption of AI and agent-based technologies to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
• Ensure production systems are sustainable, adaptable, and resilient in a dynamic business environment.

What We’re Looking For

• 6-8 years of experience in quantitative or technical fields, with a proven track record of managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python.
• Experience with databases (SQL, MongoDB), data caching, and workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools such as Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of quantitative modeling, portfolio construction, and risk analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to work across the full technology stack, from infrastructure to user interfaces.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner with global teams and stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, creative problem-solver with a passion for driving innovation in financial technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in asset management, investment analytics, or financial modeling.
• Knowledge of AI/ML techniques and their application in financial services.
• Prior experience building and scaling production systems in a fast-paced environment.
