Job Summary

We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to work on various Roadway Transportation construction projects located in San Diego County. This position will be on-site and involves inspecting construction procedures and verifying that work completed by contractors is in accordance with contract documents for roadway projects.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Abide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.

  • Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.

  • Complete daily inspection reports.

  • Prepare written reports.

  • Perform inspection of roadway construction.

  • Oversee construction of wet and dry utilities.

  • Monitor traffic control.

  • Assist with inspection of large concrete pours.

  • Assist in the documentation of pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.

  • Assure general compliance with standards and specifications.

  • Assure documentation, and accuracy of monthly progress payments.

  • Accurately track change order work.

  • Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.

  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Engineer in Training Certification required, a P.E. License (State of California) preferred but not required.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience with the concepts and practices within the highway and construction field.

  • Must have the ability to assist in the resolution of project issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.

  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.


 

Additional Information

T.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $86,000 - $128,000 annually for this position and local market.
