Memphis (Hybrid) or Remote (For remote positions, Global Cellulose Fibers will consider residents of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.)

 

About The Role:

The Cloud and Infrastructure Architect position is responsible for providing expert

technical support and implementation skills in the areas of OS operation, server

and storage architecture, cloud services, performance management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and design of Global Cellulose Fiber’s cloud and on-premises platforms worldwide. The role is also responsible for formulating the overall cloud and infrastructure strategy for Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) in conjunction with the Manager Infrastructure Services and others.

 

As part of the Technical Services organization, you will be responsible for the availability and performance of systems, providing technical and business clients with a high performance, stable, secure, and recoverable OS environment for all applications.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Under general direction, acts as a key technical consultant in the use of cloud and infrastructure technologies in the environment.
  • Develop standards and guidelines using current and emerging technologies by collaborating with counterparts from other teams and managed service providers.
  • Provides technical leadership of managed service providers in the planning, designing, and implementing the relevant technologies. Works with architects to evaluate vendor products, make recommendations on selection, conduct feasibility studies for large projects and/or develop requests for proposals. Act as a consultant on large projects.
  • Provides third tier and higher support and maintenance to end-users and acts as a high-level subject matter expert for the support and maintenance of the relevant systems and/or applications.
  • Acts as a change leader for the organization.
  • Research and recommend software products to assist with the management and availability of these systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT groups to interface systems as required to network and other infrastructure components.
  • Bridge the gap between the strategic direction and the tactical realities of operations.
  • Guide and manage vendor relationships and agreements.

 

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in technical architecture roles, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Experience with a broad set of infrastructure and operations technologies,

including: x86 servers, Microsoft Windows Server, Unix/Linux operating systems, enterprise storage, networking, firewalls, clustering, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, virtualization, directory services, converged infrastructure, cloud computing, performance and capacity planning, Enterprise ERP, and security

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field required; Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.) strongly preferred.
