Job Summary

Based at our Luton manufacturing plant you’ll do just that. Established in 1993, GKN Aerospace in Luton is a world leader in commercial and military ice protection systems and transparencies. Offering a full range of capabilities; design, analysis, testing, certification and manufacture of electro-thermal ice protection, military fast jet canopies and flight deck windows to over 20 programmes including: Boeing 787, Dreamliner, Airbus A320, AgustaWestland, AW101, Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed, Martin F-22 Raptor. Our customers include Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopters, Textron, BAE Systems, Pratt & Whitney, Leonardo. Our Luton site is home to 370+ employees and onsite facilities including onsite parking, food hub and vending machines.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and organised HR Administrator to join our team at the Luton manufacturing facility. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the HR Team and directly with employees supporting the administration across the employee lifecycle.  Reporting to the HR Manager you will be responsible for delivering key administrative and operational activities essential to the smooth functioning of HR operations.

 
This position offers an excellent entry‑level opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional HR function and begin developing a long‑term career in Human Resources. Core operational hours are Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:30, and Friday, 07:30 to 12:30. Flexibility around working hours can be discussed during the interview process.

Job Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide a complete HR Administration service for the complete employee lifecycle including:
•    Preparing employment offers and contracts
•    Managing pre- employment checks 
•    Onboarding and Offboarding administration
•    Creating, maintaining and audit complete accurate HR files and databases relating to all personal information, employment history, and benefits-related records
•    Recording and reporting on sickness absence
•    Enter updates to the HR systems, with employee change requests, creating reports, maintaining employment records as required by retention policies, run reports as needed and other functions.
•    Support site-wide communications by preparing and distributing HR-related updates, notices, and announcements to employees
•    Be the key person in the team for ensuring administration tasks are kept up to date
•    Supporting initiatives and projects to raise employee engagement and help make us a Great Place to Work

Essential:

  • Demonstrable administration experience, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel 
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

  • Experience within an HR operational environment would be highly advantageous
  • Experience / knowledge in HRIS such SuccessFactors
  • Knowledge of SAP 
  • HR process knowledge
  • CIPD Qualified or working towards
