What are we looking for? 

At Givaudan Naarden (Netherlands), we are looking for Organic Chemistry intern who will support our team full time during five/six months. Starting in 2025.

In this exciting role you will: work on the synthesis of new odour and taste molecules. Research topics can be very different and are always connected to business needs defined in our strategy. One example is the synthesis of molecules that boost the taste of salt (NaCl). Such molecules would help our customers to develop foods with a lower salt level without losing taste quality. Another example is the synthesis of molecules that have a bloody-metallic odour. This will help to create more authentic flavours for meat replacers that are made from plant proteins. 

The intern will see how Givaudan's innovation funnel works when his/her molecules are tested by flavourists and application specialists.

The intern will be mentored by one of our experienced chemists.

The internship will finish by writing a report about the work and a presentation for the R&D group.

Skills required: (both technical- functional competencies)

·Bachelor student in Organic Chemistry

·Perfect knowledge of MS Office Systems

·Creativity and enthusiasm

·Hands-on mentality

·Likes to take on responsibility and able to drive projects themselves.

·Able to work independently

·Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English.

·Ability to present findings in a concise manner

·Easily connects with colleagues and a natural networker

·Has NO food allergens/intolerance (like gluten, soy, wheat)

What do we offer you?

Building work experience in a business to business environment.

For a fulltime internship you will receive a € 500,- (Bachelor) or € 750,- (Master) gross per month compensation.  In case of no OV card, reimbursement of public transportation costs or housing allowance (€ 250,- gross) in case moving closer to Givaudan and having double housing costs. We organize transport with a personnel shuttle bus that drives from and to the NS Station Naarden-Bussum.
