Overview

Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity? Gilbane is seeking an Internal Auditor II to be responsible for conducting or assisting in conducting reviews of assigned organizational and functional activities, as well as planning and executing complete reviews of limited audit assignments, or conducting reviews of portions of extensive audit assignments, in accordance with accepted professional standards. This role will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Survey functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives
  • Determine or assist in determining the direction and thrust of the proposed audit effort
  • Determine or assist in determining the audit procedures to be used
  • Plan or assist in planning the theory and scope of the audit, and prepare or assist in preparing an audit program
  • Perform the audit in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved audit program
  • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the activities being reviewed
  • Make or assist in making oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the examination, discussing deficiencies, recommending corrective action, and suggesting improvements in operations and reductions in cost
  • Prepare formal written reports, as requested, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency with which activities are carried out
  • Appraise or assist in appraising the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions
  • Determine the auditing procedures to be used, including statistical sampling
  • Identify the key controls in assigned areas and document them in a detailed control evaluation
  • Review procedures and records for their adequacy to accomplish intended objectives, and appraise policies and plans relating to the activity or function under audit review

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • 2-3 years of business and audit experience
  • Construction, real estate or similar industry experience preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Providence, RI this ranges from $ 63,000.00-$93,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
