About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:

This role is hybrid. Regular travel between stores is required. When not traveling to stores, you can work remotely from home! Travel is required across the region for the role.

Purpose: As an important member of the Store Human Resources team and reporting to the Regional Human Resources Business Partner, the HR Advisor is responsible for supporting the Store Human Resources function, including all aspects of employee and labour relations, talent management and Human Resources Best Practices. The HR Advisor conducts regular store visits to review Store engagement and identifies any employee relations issues and escalates/resolves those issues working in partnership with the Regional Support Managers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Execute on aspects of the people plan (labour, process and tools) as assigned by the HR Business Partner.

  • Ensure compliance around HR policies/labour legislation for your business unit (stores) and identify risks and actions to escalate to the HR Business Partner as needed.

  • Provide coaching, counselling and responses on employee relations and labour relations programs, policies and procedures that impact your business unit.  

  • Build Partnerships with Store Franchisees and Managers and establish yourself as a trusted HR Advisor.

  • Communicate with COEs and HR Ops to resolve any concerns for your business unit and ensure that you escalate feedback from your business unit to the HR Business Partner. 

  • Act as a primary coach and advisor to leaders, providing expert coaching, counselling, and guidance on employee relations and labour relations matters, with a strong focus on building leadership capability and sound decision-making.  

  • Build business relationships as a trusted and proactive HR advisor through our HR Best Practices to drive employee engagement.

  • Lead  Harassment Investigations and Partner with Franchisee and Store Manager to conduct other Workplace Investigations.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to provide necessary HR Support and solutions

What You'll Bring:

  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR role

  • Skilled in developing positive working relationships with business leaders

  • Excellent attention to detail with written work

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way  

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations

  • Strong computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are required

  • Acts with the highest professional standards of personal and professional integrity

  • Exceptional coaching skills

  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned region of stores

Assets You May Have:

  • Bilingualism English and French

  • Experience working in an HRIS

  • Relevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claims

Travel Requirements

  • Travel required to stores within the Quebec and East Coast (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI)

Short Term Incentive Plan

Bonus - Short-Term Incentive Plan, 10% Annual

Retirement Support

Bonus - Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan (DPSP), 6% Annual

Short Term Incentive Plan: This role includes an annual bonus opportunity based on the percentage of base salary listed above, with payout determined by company and individual performance.
