Who are we looking for?
Due to strong business and growth opportunities, we are seeking an accomplished and transformative Technical Director – Renewables, to join our high-performing, collaborative and enthusiastic team. This is a delivery role that will lead project teams across BESS, Solar, Wind and beyond where you’ll be involved in a blend of technical, project management and business development. As a Project Director, this role will not only support our New South Wales business but also link in with our broader Power & Future Energy business across Australia and New Zealand. You will also be involved as an Owner’s Engineer across the renewable energy market.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Project & design management and leadership, from feasibility & tender through to construction
- Leading the Technical and Commercial direction on Renewable Energy projects as a Project Director
- Support strategic initiatives on developing and growing GHD's Future Energy program, with dedicated attention to renewable opportunities in BESS, Solar and Wind in New South Wales and across Australia
- Collaborating with colleagues across the business (nationally and globally) to manage project resourcing, development and delivery activities
- Projects that range from pre-FID planning and investigation studies and procurement support through to post-FID delivery phase roles
- Assisting with management of the Quality, HSE, IMS compliance standards and promotion of continuous improvement in our systems and processes
- Identifying and creating business opportunities for the team and the broader business
What would you bring to the team?
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with Project Management qualifications also highly regarded
- Minimum 10 - 15 years industry experience, demonstrated local experience on projects in either the BESS, Solar or Wind space
- CPEng (or ability to obtain) will be valued
- Demonstrated skills in project management and design management – capable of leading large power projects as a Project Director where you’ve lead multi-disciplinary engineering design. Experience as an Owner’s Engineer is also advantageous
- You have a proactive, self-directed leadership style. You are an enthusiastic, supportive & motivating leader – able to get the best out of their team and comfortable with mentoring and technical supervisory responsibilities
- A natural communicator & strategic thinker who is proactive, professional & collaborative
