Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Architect to join our team to ensure program delivery is on schedule with technical delivery of a large Cloud Services government contract. This is a full-time remote position (must reside in CONUS).

HOW A CLOUD ARCHITECT TECHNICAL LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Serve as a technical advisor to the program and customer, supporting complex cloud infrastructure requirements.
  • Consult on the design, build, and deployment of scalable cloud architectures across commercial cloud platforms.
  • Provide hands-on implementation guidance, including feasibility assessments for integrations and cloud services.
  • Advise on cloud accreditation and security compliance activities.
  • Consult on the development of automation and IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform.
  • Advise on the integration of systems and services using APIs, cloud-native tools, and open-source technologies.
  • Apply scalable networking technologies (load balancers, firewalls) and web standards (REST APIs, authentication).
  • Consult on container and orchestration environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical, operational, and security requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, best practices, and documentation for stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:

CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility.

CERTIFICATION: Google Cloud or other Cloud certifications (i.e. AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc)

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, OR additional work experience in lieu of degree

YEAR'S EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of relevant experience overall -

  • 5 years of experience in engineering or cloud
  • 3 years of experience as an engineer or engineering manager

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience with scalable networking technologies (such as Load Balancers, Firewalls) and web standards (such as REST APIs, web security mechanisms).
  • Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures.
  • Experience working with and managing external partners/customers, especially Federal/DOD customers
  • Understanding of open source server software

The likely salary range for this position is $187,000 - $253,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
